Job Title Vice President for Student Affairs Job Description
The Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) is the chief advocate for ensuring a student experience that is focused on personal development and success in an environment that is supportive, inclusive, equitable and engaging. The VPSA is responsible for the planning, execution, coordination, integration, management and evaluation of all Student Affairs activities. This senior level position will provide vision, leadership and overall administration for several departments and programs within the college including: Recruiting & Admissions, Accessibility Services, Financial Aid, Career Services & Academic Advising, Student Retention & Support Services, Registrar, Student Wellbeing & Conduct, Testing Services, and several grant funded programs including TRIO Student Support Services, TRIO EOC, TRIO Upward Bound, Pathways for Academic Career & Employment (PACE) Programs, DOJ Campus Programs (OVW – grant ends Sept 2026).
As a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet, this position will provide leadership in policy formation, strategic planning, and management in planning institutional programs, budget resource allocation and fiscal and personnel management within the Student Affairs division. Vital working relationships include: Iowa Department of Education, federal Department of Education, federal Department of Justice, Iowa Department of Vocational Rehab, and regional 4yr colleges, local community service agencies including SEIRMC and SEIA Community Health Center, and district high-schools. The Vice President will play a key leadership role within the college and the community and will keep abreast of local, state, national and global trends that may influence the college.
This position is a full-time position (261 workdays per year). The starting salary is $130,000 per year.
Benefits include medical, dental & vision insurance, $50,000 life insurance, long-term disability, paid sick leave, paid discretionary leave, 15 days’ vacation, paid spring and holiday breaks and participation in IPERS or TIAA-CREF retirement plan.
The Vice President for Student Affairs will abide by the employment contract and relevant policies and guidelines of the Board of Trustees.

Must be able to work on a basis of “available as work demands” in addition to a fixed schedule, which may include evenings and weekends.
Travel throughout the merged area will be somewhat routine with the possibility of some state and national travel.
In addition, the individual in this position will actively promote a positive image for the college district.
