UX Designer Instructors (Volunteer Opportunity) Full Time NEW

Outcome School is a free tech school dedicated to equipping underserved and minority youth with practical skills in software engineering, AI, robotics, game development, cybersecurity, and more. Through a structured, level-based system, students progress in 12-week increments, building expertise step by step. Outcome School bridges the gap between education and employment by providing hands-on training, mentorship, and real hiring pathways. Role Description

This is a volunteer, remote opportunity for UX Designer Instructors at Outcome School. In this role, volunteers will deliver high-quality instruction in UX design to learners, covering principles such as design thinking, user research, and prototyping. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lessons via a structured curriculum, mentoring students, reviewing projects and portfolios, and providing constructive feedback to ensure students gain job-ready skills. Volunteers will also foster an engaging learning environment and work collaboratively with the Outcome School team to continually improve the program.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Design Thinking and User Research to guide students in creating user-centered solutions
• Strong skills in Visual Design and User Experience (UX) to teach design principles that enhance usability and accessibility
• Experience in Prototyping to demonstrate practical approaches for creating and testing designs
• Excellent communication and teaching abilities to clearly convey concepts and provide mentoring
• Commitment to empowering underserved youth through skill-building and career readiness
• Hands-on experience in UX design or a related field; prior teaching or mentorship experience is a plus
• Adaptability to work in a remote, volunteer-based environment
