We are currently developing a semi-open world cooking/action-adventure game that combines exploration, progression, emergent gameplay, and cooperative systems into a unique player-driven experience.

Note: This is a revenue share position, compensation will be based on revenue sharing, rather than an upfront salary.

Job Description

As a UI Artist, you will help shape how players interact with and experience our game. Your work will define the visual presentation of menus, HUD elements, icons, and interface systems, ensuring that they are both visually appealing and easy to use.

Working closely with Designers, Artists, and Programmers, you will create user interface assets that support gameplay while maintaining a cohesive visual identity. We are looking for someone who understands both visual design and usability, creating interfaces that feel intuitive, polished, and aligned with the overall art direction of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and create high-quality UI assets, including menus, HUD elements, icons, widgets, and interface graphics.
• Collaborate with Designers to ensure interfaces are intuitive, accessible, and support the player experience.
• Maintain visual consistency across all user-facing interface elements.
• Create interface mockups, wireframes, and visual concepts for new features and systems.
• Work closely with Programmers to implement and iterate on UI designs within Unity.
• Help establish UI style guides and visual standards for the project.
• Optimize UI assets for performance and scalability across different resolutions and aspect ratios.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a UI Artist, Graphic Designer, or equivalent role in game development.
• Strong portfolio showcasing UI design, visual communication, and interface artwork.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Photoshop, Figma, Illustrator, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of layout, typography, hierarchy, color theory, and visual design principles.
• Understanding of usability, user experience, and accessibility fundamentals.
• Ability to create interfaces that balance aesthetics with functionality.
• Ability to work independently in a remote and asynchronous development environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience implementing UI systems in Unity.
• Familiarity with UI animation and motion design principles.
