Trading Card Specialist Full Time NEW

We are seeking a high-energy, knowledgeable Trading Card Specialist to serve as a TCG expert on our sales floor. This role drives our community engagement and inventory growth by actively buying TCG trades from our customers, and hosting events for all major Trading Card Games (TCGs), while also ensuring efficient management of our online inventory. If you are passionate about the TCG hobby, thrive in a customer-facing role, and can balance front-of-house interactions with back-of-house organization, this is the perfect opportunity!

Starting Pay: $15.00+ per hour. Final compensation is based on your specific TCG knowledge, buying/trading proficiency, and previous retail experience. If you know your stuff, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities – Community & Sales Floor Engagement

• Serve as the dedicated TCG expert on the sales floor, providing exceptional customer service and product knowledge to drive sales.
• Actively purchase, trade, and appraise all manner of TCG inventory (e.g., Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, sports cards, etc.) from customers.
• Ensure all buy/trade transactions are conducted fairly, accurately, and in accordance with store policies and market value.
• Host engaging TCG events in our PlaySpace (e.g., tournaments, casual play nights, pre-releases, and leagues).
• Maintain clear and effective communication with the Trading Card Manager, store staff, and the customer community.

Key Responsibilities – Inventory & Online Operations

• Organize and maintain card inventory across multiple systems, sorting by condition, set, and rarity.
• Scan and upload inventory of single cards to our online platform.
• Accurately process and enter new incoming trading card inventory.
• Research and apply accurate market pricing to single cards based on condition and real-time trends.
• Pick, pack, and prepare online card orders for shipment.
• Support other general store-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Deep, current familiarity and expertise with multiple major Trading Card Games.
• Proven experience in a retail or customer service environment is highly preferred.
• Prior experience with or comfort in valuing/appraising trading cards for buy/trade transactions is highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills suitable for a sales floor and event hosting role.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail for inventory management.
• Ability to work independently, manage shifting priorities between the sales floor and back-of-house, and meet deadlines.
