The Recreation Therapist provides therapeutic activities that support patients’ physical, emotional, and social well-being. You would ensure individualized treatment plans, patient engagement, and meaningful progress toward recovery goals. This role reports to the Director. Essential Job Duties:
Develops and implements individualized recreational therapy treatment plans; provides therapeutic and leisure services while monitoring patient progress and documenting outcomes.
Collaborates with physicians and care teams to assess appropriateness of referrals and supports patient care through education, scheduling, and coordination of services.
Provides guidance, training, and mentorship to staff; ensures accurate clinical documentation and efficient workload management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
1-3 years of relevant experience in recreational therapy or behavioral health setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of Recreation Therapy Standards of Care and patient-centered practices.
Licenses / Certifications:
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
