Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Technical Engineer to help architect, maintain, and improve the systems powering Xcelerate’s operations and customer experience.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys working across infrastructure, backend systems, APIs, automations, integrations, and customer-facing technology. You’ll work directly with leadership to improve scalability, reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across the organization.
This is not a help desk role.
We are looking for a builder.

What You’ll Do
Platform & Systems Engineering
* Maintain and improve Xcelerate’s core platform infrastructure
* Support and optimize Heroku-hosted applications and backend services
* Build and maintain APIs, integrations, and automations across internal systems
* Improve system reliability, uptime, scalability, and performance
* Assist with database management, architecture, and optimization
* Support production troubleshooting and issue resolution
CRM & Operational Automation
* Enhance Salesforce workflows, lead routing, and operational automations
* Improve data hygiene, reporting accuracy, and system efficiency
* Build internal tools that reduce manual processes
* Create scalable automation frameworks across sales, claims, and operations
Product & Customer Experience
* Collaborate on customer-facing digital experiences and checkout flows
* Support implementation of claims experience technology initiatives
* Assist in building end-to-end ownership and claims infrastructure
* Work closely with leadership on new platform initiatives and integrations
Security & Technical Operations
* Help establish engineering best practices and documentation
* Monitor infrastructure health and system security
* Assist with vendor/platform evaluations and technical migrations
* Ensure business continuity and operational redundancy across systems

Ideal Qualifications
Required
* 3+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical operations
* Strong understanding of APIs, backend systems, and cloud infrastructure
* Experience with:
* Ruby on Rails
* PostgreSQL
* Salesforce integrations/workflows
* REST APIs
* Git/GitHub
* Automation platforms and scripting
* Experience troubleshooting production systems
* Ability to work independently and solve problems quickly
Preferred
* Experience working in startups or high-growth environments
* Experience with Heroku infrastructure
* Familiarity with EV, automotive, fintech, or insurtech industries
* Experience building operational automations and internal tools
* Frontend experience is a plus
* AI workflow and automation experience is a major plus
