The Midtown Group has been selected to fill three long-term Field Systems Implementation / Practice Information Management System Specialists contract roles for a rapidly growing culture and change consulting firm that helps purpose-driven leaders achieve exceptional outcomes.
They partner with one of the largest and successful veterinary systems that needs expert level assistance with a large end-to-end software implementation and training.
Midtown is excited to joining forces with this exciting company and we are looking to hire ASAP for these 9-to-12-month engagements that will require significant amounts of travel.

Field Systems Implementation Specialist / assignments
Overview
The Field Systems Implementation / Practice Information Management System Specialist is responsible for leading end-to-end software implementations for veterinary clinics, ensuring seamless onboarding, workflow optimization, and long-term customer success. This role serves as the primary client-facing project lead throughout the full lifecycle; from scoping and project planning to go-live and post-launch optimization, as well as a liaison between the support center, operations, and vendor teams. Blending project management discipline, veterinary workflow expertise, and training leadership, this individual ensures projects are delivered on time, on scope, and with measurable impact to clinic operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, cross functional environment, communicates clearly with stakeholders at all and maintains sharp attention to detail while managing multiple concurrent projects. Travel is required up to 80% of time.
Key Responsibilities
• End-to-End Implementation & Project Ownership • Own the full implementation lifecycle from discovery and scoping through go-live and sustainment
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestone tracking
• Ensure alignment with defined implementation frameworks, quality standards, and KPIs
• Manage multiple concurrent implementations while ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines
Client-Facing Leadership & Communication
• Serve as the primary point of contact for veterinary clinics and external partners throughout implementation.
• Provide consistent progress updates to stakeholders, including leadership and project teams.
• Lead project meetings, status calls, and go-live coordination sessions.
• Proactively identify risks, mitigate obstacles, and escalate issues when necessary.
Training, Workflow Optimization & Adoption
• Deliver role-based systems training to veterinarians, technicians, and administrative teams.
• Align system configuration with real-world clinical workflows and operational best practices.
• Support go-live readiness planning and on-site or remote launch support.
• Monitor adoption milestones and recommend workflow adjustments to improve efficiency.
• Capture clinic feedback to inform product and process enhancements.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Collaboration
• Partner closely with Key Stakeholders, Operations, Care Advancement and Leadership teams to scope projects and define milestones.
• Collaborate with technical teams on integrations, feature launches, and system enhancements.
• Contribute to roadmap discussions and process improvement initiatives.
• Represent the implementation function in strategic planning conversations related to growth, scalability, and resource allocation.
Operational Excellence & Process Standardization
• Build and maintain standardized workflows, documentation, and implementation playbooks.
• Utilize Smartsheet and project management platforms to track milestones and documentation.
• Ensure consistency across onboarding experiences and project delivery methods.
• Continuously refine processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in veterinary software implementation, training, customer success, or project management.
• Direct experience working in a veterinary clinic OR implementing veterinary software for clinics.
• Experience preparing for third-party integrations, partnership launches, or product rollouts.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level communication.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel as required up to 80%.
