The SVP – Technology is responsible to the Executive Vice President, Chief Growth Officer for leading enterprise technology strategy and execution in support of member growth, digital expansion, operational scalability, and long term enterprise performance. Provides executive oversight of Information Systems, Application Technology, the Project Management Office, and Business Optimization. This position designs and executes the credit union’s multi year technology and digital roadmap, including system architecture, system development life cycle, platform integration, and strategic technology partner management. Accountable for executive leadership that advances Chartway’s Strategic Plan, strengthens cross functional collaboration, and builds a high performing technology organization aligned to growth priorities.

Responsible And Accountable For

• Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise technology strategy aligned with the credit union’s growth objectives and corporate strategic plan.
• Partner with executive peers to ensure technology capabilities accelerate retail, lending, marketing, and member experience strategies while reducing friction and time to market.
• Ensure credit union technology is secure, scalable, and capable of supporting our growth trajectory outlined in the Strategic Plan
• Maintains current knowledge on industry trends and will be looked upon as the organizational expert.
• Identify, evaluate, and deploy emerging technologies that enhance member acquisition, deepen member engagement, improve operational efficiency, and create competitive differentiation.
• Provide executive oversight of major technology initiatives including capital planning, resource allocation, vendor negotiations, ROI evaluation, and measurable member and financial impact.
• Implement best practices for software development, project management, and technology operations
• Prepares, implements, and manages the IT budget
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensures all IT professionals are maintaining their proficiencies through technical education and cross-training
• Evaluate and manage relationships with technology partners, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
• Communicates complex technology concepts effectively to all levels in the organization.
• Ensures compliance to all regulatory requirements
• Designs and establishes benchmarks that measure the impact and effectiveness of Information Technology on Chartway’s overall performance
• Owns the IT areas impact on member satisfaction and enterprise NPS scores
• Lead enterprise AI and intelligent automation initiatives that enhance personalization, improve efficiency, strengthen decision making, and align with Chartway’s values, risk appetite, and cultural commitments.
• Provides project management guidance and oversight to ensure successful implementation and objectives of the project are achieved.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure fundamentals including but not limited to data networking, telephony, virtualization, storage, Active Directory, and cloud computing options.
• Extensive knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and the ability to implement best practices around application development
• Demonstrated expertise in software/platform implementations.
• Proficient in analyzing business needs, identifying opportunities for improvement and/or efficiency, developing innovative solutions, and implementation/tracking of the solution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional collaboration with Information Security, Risk, Finance, Retail, Lending, and Marketing to ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise growth objectives.
• Ability to effectively work with and coordinate the use of internal and external partners/consultants
• Ability to lead the continuation of a corporate-wide transition to Agile including coaching internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Executive leadership capability to build and develop senior technology leaders, establish succession plans, and create a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Strong collaborator who can learn the overall business and present recommendations to peers from their points of view
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate persuasively across varying audiences internally and externally.
• Ability to translate complex technology strategy into executive level and Board level insights that inform strategic decision making.
• Strong self-awareness, curious learner who seeks and listens to other perspectives yet is willing to make tough decisions when needed.

Education And Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree a plus.
• Experience: 10+ years in a technology leadership role. Financial services experience preferred.
