Job Overview

OVERVIEW We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Stone Cutter & Fabricator to join our production team in Bohemia, NY. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience operating advanced CNC and robotic cutting equipment, a sharp eye for detail, and a genuine pride in craftsmanship. You will be responsible for transforming raw stone slabs into precisely cut, finished products that meet exact client specifications.

PRIMARY EQUIPMENT

CNC Bridge Saw — Computer-controlled bridge saw for precision straight cuts, miters, and complex geometry across granite, quartz, marble, and porcelain slabs.

Baca Robo Sawjet — Integrated robotic saw and waterjet system for automated cutting, shaping, sink cutouts, and intricate detail work with minimal material waste.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up, operate, and maintain the CNC bridge saw and Baca Robo Sawjet for daily production runs
• Read and interpret shop drawings, DXF files, and digital cut sheets to program and execute cuts accurately
• Reference and update Trello boards daily to receive job directions, track work order status, and follow production prioritization set by the shop supervisor
• Perform sink cutouts, miter cuts, radius work, and specialty geometry per customer templates and specifications
• Mill and refinish slabs and cut pieces as required, including edge profiling, surface grinding, and finish restoration to meet quality standards
• Inspect slabs for veining, cracks, and defects prior to cutting; make layout decisions to minimize waste and maximize yield
• Operate material handling equipment (slab carts, A-frames, lifts) safely to stage and move stone throughout the shop
• Perform basic machine maintenance, tooling changes, and blade/waterjet head inspections; report issues to shop supervisor
• Coordinate with the fabrication and polishing team to maintain production flow and meet daily job deadlines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
• Accurately record production quantities, scrap, and job tracking as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in stone fabrication or a related cutting trade
• Demonstrated experience with CNC-controlled saws or waterjet equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, shop tickets, and digital templates
• Working knowledge of natural stone, engineered quartz, and porcelain material properties
• Experience with milling, grinding, and surface or edge refinishing of stone
• Comfortable using digital tools such as Trello or similar project management platforms for daily job tracking
• Strong spatial reasoning and attention to dimensional accuracy
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on feet for extended periods

Preferred:

• Direct experience programming or operating a Baca Robo Sawjet or similar robotic waterjet system
• Familiarity with DXF/CAD file formats and basic digital templating
• Experience with Brembana, GMM, or similar CNC bridge saw brands
• Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment upkeep
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Pay: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour
