THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a creative, passionate and energetic Architect to take on leadership roles on our commercial retail work. This individual to write would Writes and coordinates specification sections for CSI Divisions 2 through 14 for project manual preparation, including proofreading and coordinating cross-references.
Essential job functions:
• Write new specification sections required by project scope.
• Coordinate project requirements within all other specification divisions.
• Assign and write descriptions for project alternate numbers for all scopes of construction work on projectsCoordinate procurement and general requirements with Owners and align with project scope.
• Write descriptions of allowances and alternates for all scopesspecific scopes of construction work on projects.
• Reviews and coordinates addenda for projects, in collaboration with Project Architect.
• Assemble bidding requirements and specification sections into project manuals with possible client input.
• Periodic meetings with Product Representatives to update reference library.
• Maintain current reference standards including ASTM, SMACNA, NRCA, AWI, and Master Specifications.
• Assist Project Managers with selection of architectural products and materials.
• May function as a Project Manager or Project Engineer as needed.
• Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is resourceful and inquisitive, has a passion for great architecture, wants to help foster long-term client relationships through exemplary service, and believes that projects should be tailored to the client’s needs.
Other preferred qualifications include:
• Prior experience in construction specification development software.
• Five or more years of construction or related professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• Construction Specifications Institute [CSI] professional membership.
• Knowledge of all construction trades.
• Knowledge of structural systems, products, components, and applications, design, and construction administration processes.
• Ability to interpret building codes and industry standards.
• Ability to read and communicate 3-dimensional site conditions and requirements in a 2-dimensional format.
• Skill in operating computers, email/calendar software, internet/intranet browsers, word processing, spreadsheets, database software, and various other software, hardware, and job-specific technology and equipment.
BENEFITS
Bowen offers competitive salaries (commensurate with skill level and experience) in a supportive and cooperative environment. The anticipated salary range for this position is $58,000 – $75,000.
