Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer – Qt to lead the development of next-generation user interface software for medical devices. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Qt application development, C/C++ programming, embedded software systems, and medical device software compliance. This role combines technical leadership, software architecture, hands-on development, and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality, regulated healthcare products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of medical device user interface applications using Qt Framework and Qt Design Studio.
• Partner with systems engineering, hardware, quality, regulatory, and product teams to define software requirements and ensure successful project execution.
• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications utilizing Qt Widgets, MVC, and MVVM design patterns.
• Develop embedded software solutions in C/C++ and integrate software with hardware platforms, sensors, and peripheral devices.
• Create, automate, and execute software verification and validation activities using tools such as Qt Squish.
• Support software lifecycle processes and documentation in compliance with IEC 62304, FDA regulations, and quality management system requirements.
• Conduct code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical assessments to promote software quality, security, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex software and system-level issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including software architecture, design specifications, test protocols, and traceability artifacts.
• Utilize Git and modern source-control workflows for version management and collaborative development.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards, engineering best practices, and continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development using Qt Framework and C/C++.
• Strong experience developing graphical user interfaces (GUI) for embedded or desktop applications.
• Hands-on expertise with Qt Widgets, MVC, and MVVM architectural patterns.
• Experience with embedded software development and hardware/software integration.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks, preferably Qt Squish.
• Working knowledge of medical device software standards, including IEC 62304, FDA software guidance, and software validation methodologies.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Experience using Git, code review processes, and Agile development practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing software for regulated medical device products.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Familiarity with medical device communication protocols and hardware interfaces.
• Experience supporting software verification, validation, and regulatory submissions.
• Background working in Agile/Scrum development environments and cross-functional product teams.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Qt Quick / QML development experience.
• Experience with cybersecurity and secure coding practices for medical devices.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and automated build/test pipelines.
• Exposure to risk management processes and software traceability within regulated environments.
