Job Description
Insight Global is seeking Software Engineers for a missile and defense company based in their Tucson, AZ location. This position supports the design, development, and integration of software used in factory test systems for weapon system products. The engineer will work hands-on in both engineering and production environments, contributing across the full software lifecycle. The role involves building applications, libraries, and instrument drivers that ensure reliable, efficient test operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and integrate object-oriented software in C# and C+- Support multiple software development tasks across shifting priorities
Troubleshoot issues involving software, instrumentation, and test environments
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver system-level solutions
Develop, derive, and document software requirements
Build and integrate instrument drivers and hardware-interface software

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field + 2+ years of relevant experience
C# and C++ OOP development on Windows
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio, including build systems, unit testing, and debugging (breakpoints, call stacks, memory/thread analysis)
Experience with hardware-interface software and instrument drivers (TCP/IP, UDP, serial, GPIB/VISA, DAQs, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
Ability to derive, document, and manage software requirements
Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall development lifecycles
Experience with software configuration management (version control, change control, baselines)
Hands-on system-level troubleshooting across software + hardware
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams – Software + hardware integration experience
Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization
Understanding of Agile/Waterfall methodologies
