About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Phantom Works Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software (OASIS) team located in Berkeley, MO. This pivotal role supports Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization, focusing on developing innovative software solutions for space-based effects in support of air domain missions. The ideal candidate will lead software development projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to cutting-edge research and development initiatives. They will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and testing complex software systems that meet stringent operational and performance requirements. The role requires a proactive mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to adapt to evolving technological landscapes.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or related fields. An active Top Secret US Security clearance is mandatory. Candidates should have at least five years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in Java and/or C++ object-oriented programming. Leadership experience in managing software development projects for a minimum of three years is essential, along with proficiency in MATLAB for at least one year. Additional preferred qualifications include familiarity with physics-based modeling software, DevSecOps practices, and experience working in Agile environments. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, a customer-oriented approach, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Exposure to Linux and Windows operating systems, along with knowledge of MATLAB Coder, is advantageous.
