About The Role
MANTECH is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Junior Software Developer to join our team in St. Inigoes, MD. This onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with an integrated development team through all phases of the software development life cycle. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Navy combat identification systems and IFF interfaces. This role involves engaging in innovative software solutions, supporting the deployment of future combat systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. The Junior Software Developer will play a vital role in analyzing technology gaps, conducting testing and bug fixes, and creating technical documentation, all while working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment that directly supports national defense initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in software development
- Applied experience programming in a Linux environment
- Proficiency with C/C++ and Java programming languages
- Experience working within an agile development environment
- U.S. Citizenship and possession of a current or active Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Wireshark for network analysis
- Experience with Eclipse IDE for software development
- Familiarity with SVN for source code management
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative software solutions for Navy identification systems and IFF interfaces
- Execute scientific, engineering, and technical services for the design, development, integration, and testing of combat systems
- Analyze technology and capability gaps to research, develop, and deploy effective software solutions
- Collaborate with other developers and project leads to design, optimize, and define deliverables
- Conduct integration, testing, bug fixes, and ongoing software maintenance activities
- Assist in creating technical documentation and user guides to support developed software
