About The Role
INNOVIM is seeking a talented Software Developer to join our team supporting NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) contract. This role is pivotal in enabling earth scientists and related stakeholders to access, analyze, and utilize data from NASA’s diverse Earth Science missions. The Software Developer will operate in a dynamic, Agile environment, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of innovative tools and solutions that enhance data discoverability, transformation, and quality. The position offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional travel to Annapolis, MD, for quarterly planning sessions. Candidates must possess a U.S. citizenship and hold a National Agency Clearance with Inquiries (NACI) screening.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of software development experience
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Clojure, and Node.JS
- Demonstrable knowledge of Git version control system
- In-depth experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including serverless services (Lambda, Queues, Topics)
- Good understanding of caching technologies such as Redis
- Ability to work with containerization and orchestration tools
- Strong problem-solving, technical, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a National Agency Clearance with Inquiries (NACI)
Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from user story creation to design, coding, automated testing, and operational support
- Develop and implement new features to meet evolving user needs and enhance system capabilities
- Support deployment of product updates and improvements in a timely manner
- Identify and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring system stability and performance
- Design scalable and efficient architecture solutions to support large data volumes and complex workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Share industry best practices and innovative ideas to foster team growth and process improvements
- Suggest and implement process enhancements to increase team efficiency and product quality
