Shear / Cutting Operator – Night Shift

The Shear Operator is responsible for preparing metal samples and materials in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role supports melt shop operations by ensuring accurate material identification, proper handling, and precise testing while maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.

• Cut metal samples according to established SOPs to support production and testing requirements.
• Operate band saws, metal presses, and hand grinding tools to form and prepare samples
• Properly sort, identify, and tag materials; ensure all unchecked material is clearly marked with a red tag prior to entering the melt shop.
• Accurately transmit test results to the melt shop and verify data accuracy and completeness.
• Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials, samples, and finished products.
• Follow all safety guidelines, quality standards, and workplace procedures at all times.

Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Requirements:

• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (metal or steel industry preferred).
• Must have experience cutting metal, using saws, presses and similar equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, safety focused environment.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour
