Who we are looking for

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Septic Technician to join our team here at A Wesco Septic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing septic systems, ensuring the highest standards of service and safety. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to operate large vehicles, be able to learn quickly and work well with our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine septic system services including pumping, inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot septic system issues and recommend appropriate solutions
• Safely operate service trucks, pumps, and equipment used in septic system service
• Locate, uncover, and access septic tanks and system components
• Assist with repairs involving piping, drain fields, and related components
• Follow all company safety procedures and comply with local and state regulations
• Maintain accurate service records, job notes, and required documentation
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding services, findings, and recommendations
• Use a mobile device proficiently to complete all job documentation, service records, and required reporting in real time
• Safely operate septic pump/vacuum trucks and related equipment as part of daily job duties.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and compliant operation
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete jobs efficiently and safely
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, tools, and job sites
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times

Requirements (Non Negotiable)

• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record for the past 3 years
• Minimum 4 years of driving experience
• Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to understand safety procedures, communicate with team members, and interact with customers
• Minimum 2 years of experience using CRM software on a mobile device for job tracking, communication, and documentation (ServiceTitan preferred)
• Must be insurable under the company vehicle insurance policy
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the septic industry or a related field such as plumbing, construction, HVAC, electrical, or similar trade work
• Experience with basic electrical systems and troubleshooting is preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating power tools
• Ability to operate large vehicles and equipment; CDL preferred but not required
• Experience operating heavy equipment, including mini excavators/Kubota equipment, preferred
• Knowledge of septic system regulations in Snohomish and King Counties preferred
• Experience with septic system service, troubleshooting, inspections, pumping, and repairs preferred
• Ability to safely and effectively locate and expose septic tanks
• Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds
• Ability to perform physical labor in various weather and jobsite conditions
• Strong teamwork skills and commitment to high-quality service
• Good communication skills with customers and team members
• Reliable, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
• Must be able to commute to our office located in Snohomish, WA
• Must be willing to take applicable tests to obtain proper licensing through the county health departments (Pumpers license & O&M license)

• First Interview – Phone Interview: The first round of interviews will be a phone interview lasting approximately 30 minutes. When submitting your application, please include available dates and times for a phone interview.
• Second Interview – In-Person Interview: Candidates selected for the second round will be invited to an in-person interview at our Snohomish office. This interview may include a job-related skills evaluation, such as completing a vehicle pre-trip inspection and discussing septic industry knowledge.
• Final Review: Candidates who move forward after the second interview may have their references and prior employment verified.
• Conditional Employment Requirements: Any offer of employment may be contingent upon successfully passing applicable pre-employment screening, which may include a background check, driving record review, verification of eligibility to work, and drug screening where permitted by law.
