I. Position Overview
The Senior Vice President of Strategy is responsible for defining the company’s medium- to long-term strategic direction. This role involves overseeing growth path planning, optimizing resource allocation, and managing the key business portfolio to ensure sustained growth and value maximization within a competitive landscape. The position reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Board of Directors and the executive leadership team. II. Core Responsibilities
1. Corporate Strategic Planning
Formulate the company’s 3–5 year strategic development plan
Identify industry trends, market opportunities, and potential risks
Develop clear growth strategies and business portfolio strategies
2. Business Growth and Investment Decisions
Evaluate new business, new market, and M&A opportunities
Lead strategic investment analysis, commercial due diligence, and valuation
Drive capital allocation optimization and maximize investment returns
3. Organizational and Performance Management
Drive cross-functional strategy execution and goal alignment
Establish a strategic KPI framework (e.g., growth rate, EBITDA, ROIC)
Oversee strategy implementation and business performance analysis
4. Market and Competitive Analysis
Continuously monitor the competitive landscape and shifts in customer demand
Identify sources of competitive differentiation and opportunities to build a “moat”
5. Executive Collaboration and Board Support
Provide strategic advice and decision-making support to the CEO and Board of Directors
Prepare strategic briefings, investment proposals, and annual planning reports
III. Qualifications
Education
MBA or Master’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
Work Experience
20+ years of experience in strategic management, investment banking, consulting, or corporate strategy within large enterprises
5+ years of senior management experience (VP/Director level or above)
Experience with multinational corporations or complex business conglomerates preferred
Core Competencies
Strong strategic thinking and systematic analytical skills
Proficiency in financial analysis, valuation modeling, and investment decision frameworks
Familiarity with M&A, integration, and corporate restructuring
Excellent leadership and cross-cultural communication skills
