Job Description

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled Senior Development Manager to join our fast-paced and growing team. This position is not for beginning leaders—it is intended for experts who excel at building and leading teams of full-stack application and API developers.

In this role, you’ll oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex web applications and services, and more importantly, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and support to a growing team, while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure our products are scalable, performant, and aligned with business goals.

This is a highly visible role—a key seat at the table responsible for shaping the future of HaloMD’s technology ecosystem and accelerating our platform through modern engineering practices, including responsible adoption of AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of full-stack developers working across frontend and backend technologies.
• Own the software development lifecycle – from requirements gathering to design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Establish and maintain technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and ensure engineering excellence across code quality, security, reliability, and scalability.
• Incorporate AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) into team workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, reduce defects, and enhance documentation.
• Leverage AI-driven tools to support architectural modeling, API design evaluation, automated test generation, and static analysis.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX/UI, QA, Data Science, and Compliance teams to deliver high-impact capabilities aligned with business priorities.
• Use agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) to prioritize team tasks, manage throughput, and ensure predictable delivery.
• Conduct regular code reviews, OKR-driven performance evaluations, and one-on-one coaching focused on skill growth and engineering maturity.
• Identify and eliminate blockers while fostering innovation, psychological safety, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure operational excellence through robust CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform), modern DevOps practices, and intelligent automation.
• Use AI-assisted observability tools and log analysis platforms to support reliability engineering and faster root-cause identification.
• Stay current with industry trends in cloud architecture, AI engineering, DevSecOps, and emerging technologies, incorporating them where appropriate.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in full-stack software development.
• 5+ years of experience managing or leading software development teams.
• Strong proficiency in both frontend (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular) and backend (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, .NET) technologies.
• Working knowledge of AI coding assistants and engineering productivity tools—including the ability to guide teams in their responsible and effective use.
• Experience integrating AI/ML-assisted workflows into the SDLC (code generation, documentation improvement, test generation, refactoring, API schema validation).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (e.g., Git).
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technology, business, product owner, and project management teams.
• Experience scaling applications in a microservices or serverless architecture.
• Prior experience in startup or fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) in a cloud environment (Azure)
• Demonstrated success in hiring and growing development teams.

Education and Experience

• 7-10 years’ experience in a system administration and/or development operations role
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related degrees
