About The Job
You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will drive project outcomes by owning an area of work, helping set technical direction and priorities for adjacent engineers, and building internal solutions with custom front-end and back-end services. You will scope difficult and nebulous problems and help resolve them by identifying, implementing, and launching solutions without continual steering or oversight from team organizers. You will interact regularly with analysts and business process owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and present complex techno-functional information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will influence or guide the work of others (design reviews, mentorship, etc.) as appropriate leveraging their expertise.
As a subject-matter expert, you will possess a comprehensive level of knowledge in application development, systems design and integration, software implementation and integration, full stack, and web development technologies. You will also engage in community contributions to improve and sustain the culture and operations, making Google a better place to work.
