Introduction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Senior Accountant – Property Accounting to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting fundamentals and exceptional analytical skills, enabling them to manage complex financial data, identify variances, and deliver accurate and insightful financial reports. This role requires hands-on experience in property accounting, lease structures, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

• We are looking for a Senior Accountant – Property Accounting with strong accounting fundamentals and analytical skills to oversee financial management and reporting for a portfolio of real estate properties.
• The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling complex financial data while effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for real estate properties in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Budgeting And Forecasting

• Assist in the preparation of annual property budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide detailed analysis and explanations for deviations.

General Ledger Management

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries for all property-related transactions, including rent, expenses, accruals, and capital expenditures.

Accounts Payable And Receivable

• Oversee AP and AR processes for property transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.

CAM (Common Area Maintenance) Reconciliations

• Prepare and review annual CAM reconciliations in line with lease agreements and industry standards.

Tax Compliance

• Assist in property tax filings and coordinate with external tax consultants to ensure compliance.

Audit Support

• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to auditor queries.

Financial Analysis

• Perform in-depth financial analysis including variance analysis, trend analysis, ROI evaluation, and identifying performance insights.

Process Improvement

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control within the property accounting function.

Qualifications

• CA Qualified (Most preferred)
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in accounting, with relevant experience in property accounting
• Minimum 1+ year of hands-on Yardi experience (Must-have)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy
