Alter Metal Recycling, in Madison WI has an immediate opening for a full time Scale Admin. Under the supervision of the Yard Administrator, the Scale Admin oversees, facilitates, processes and maintains accurate records for the yard of received and/or shipped scrap materials.

Responsibilities include:
-Visually verify inbound/outbound vehicles on scale deck and enter the weight into the computer
-Verify material type and enter codes into the computer
-Process payments to customers and verify information to customer and on the ticket is correct
-File appropriate paperwork to support payments
-Answer incoming calls; give directions, handle questions and direct calls to appropriate person
-Sort competed checks and distribute copy to customer and maintain copies for backup
-Other admin duties as assigned

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, must have an aptitude for math and be able to multi-task when handling customers and vendors in person and on the phone. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and to develop working relationships with customers and vendors as well as internal staff. Excellent customer service and data entry experience is a must.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
