Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare job sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety equipment to ensure secure working conditions
- Handle heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal panels, and insulation to support roofing tasks
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to understand project requirements and specifications
- Support the fabrication and assembly of roofing components, including metal flashing and trim carpentry elements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with team members on construction estimating tasks and project planning when needed
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment used in roofing projects
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with various construction disciplines such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or framing is a plus
- Knowledge of roofing materials including shingles, metal panels, stucco, and membrane systems
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks for extended periods
- Familiarity with schematics for fabrication or restoration projects is advantageous
- Basic handyman skills including caulking, tile laying, welding, or drywall work enhance versatility
