Position Overview
As a Surgical RDA at Aria, you will be an integral part of our clinical team, directly supporting our experienced doctor during advanced surgeries, including full-arch implant procedures, periodontal surgery, and microsurgery. You will manage all aspects of clinical operations, from patient care and room setup to documentation, sterilization, digital workflow support, and surgical readiness, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical experience.
We are a fully digital specialty practice. The ideal candidate must have strong computer skills and be comfortable working in a digital dental environment that includes dental software, digital charting, intraoral scanning, virtual treatment planning, 3D printing, digital imaging, digital photography, and technology-supported surgical workflows. The ability to learn and master dental software, document accurately on the fly, and support a high-tech clinical workflow is essential.
The ideal candidate must also have a clear understanding of periodontal procedures and surgical dental care, with the ability to explain these procedures to patients in simple, reassuring, layperson-friendly language. This role requires clinical competence, emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and the ability to help patients understand the value and purpose of their care.

Key Responsibilities
Surgical Assisting: Assist the doctor in periodontal surgeries, full-arch dental implant procedures, microsurgery, bone grafting, implant placement, and other advanced surgical procedures, ensuring all clinical tasks are carried out safely and efficiently.
Digital Clinical Workflow: Support digital workflows including intraoral scanning, digital imaging, virtual planning, surgical guide workflows, 3D printing coordination, and accurate electronic documentation.
Clinical Documentation: Document patient care, surgical procedures, clinical findings, materials used, and follow-up instructions accurately and efficiently in the practice software. The ability to document on the fly during patient care is essential.
Patient Communication: Communicate periodontal and implant procedures to patients in clear, simple, non-technical language. Help patients understand what is being done, why it matters, and how their treatment supports their long-term oral health.
Clinical Workflow Management: Oversee the clinical workflow, including patient appointments, room preparation, sterile environments, instrument readiness, and surgical procedure setup.
Inventory & Supply Management: Maintain inventory levels, track supplies, monitor surgical materials, and ensure the clinical team is fully equipped for every procedure.
Technology and Software Use: Use Windows-based computers, dental practice management software, digital imaging platforms, scanning systems, and other clinical technology with confidence and accuracy.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside the doctor and clinical team to foster a supportive, organized environment that prioritizes patient care, accountability, and clinical excellence.
Sterilization and Infection Control: Maintain the highest standards for sterilization, asepsis, infection control, and surgical safety.
Record-Keeping: Ensure meticulous documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, inventory management, lab communication, and clinical follow-up.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience as a surgical dental assistant, with a strong preference for periodontal surgery, implant surgery, or full-arch implant experience.
Registered Dental Assistant license in good standing.
Strong computer skills: Must be comfortable using Windows-based computers, dental software, digital charting, imaging systems, intraoral scanning technology, and other digital tools in a fully digital practice.
Ability to master dental software: Must be able to learn, retain, and consistently use practice software systems accurately and efficiently.
Real-time documentation skills: Must be able to document clinical care accurately during or immediately following patient treatment without falling behind or relying on others to reconstruct the visit.
Understanding of periodontal procedures: Must understand periodontal disease, periodontal therapy, surgical periodontal procedures, dental implants, bone grafting, and maintenance care well enough to support clinical treatment and explain basic concepts to patients.
Patient-centered communication: Must be able to explain procedures and instructions in calm, clear, layperson-friendly language.
Strong organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, surgical setups, supplies, documentation, and patient flow with precision and efficiency.
Leadership & initiative: Proven ability to take ownership of the clinical environment, anticipate needs, and lead by example.
Attention to detail: Exceptional focus on accuracy, from patient care and documentation to sterilization, treatment setup, and record-keeping.
High standards of clinical excellence: Ability to work with a doctor who holds the highest standards for quality, precision, patient care, and surgical outcomes.
