Program Manager, Engagement Full Time NEW

Position Summary

The Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) seeks a highly motivated Program Manager, Engagement, to advance SFA’s community engagement priorities and strategic goals. This role works closely with the Director of Engagement and Advocacy and cross-functional teams to actively engage the sarcoma community in SFA’s mission through education, advocacy, partnerships, and patient-focused initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage SFA’s network of sarcoma ambassadors and community advisory groups.
• Develop and manage strategic partnerships that advance SFA’s patient education efforts, including pharma and other organizations.
• Assess community needs through surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder meetings to inform program development.
• Identify education opportunities and collaborate with the Research Engagement team to execute education priorities.
• Plan and execute Advocacy Weekend/Hill Day in collaboration with the Director of Engagement and Advocacy.
• Partner with the Research Engagement team on patient-focused research, including identifying and supporting patient advocates.
• Develop and maintain a database of patient advocates to support organizational initiatives.
• Assist with patient engagement website content, including drafting, editing, and proofing materials.
• Collaborate with communications staff to share information on health policy, advocacy, and science education.
• Lead development of materials and initiatives that support sarcoma patients and survivors.
• Represent SFA at meetings and community events to enhance visibility and partnerships.
• Travel as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with community outreach and engagement.
• Experience in patient advocacy and support in the cancer space.
• Strong relationship-building skills with external stakeholders and partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative, resourceful, and independent problem-solving ability.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Willingness and ability to travel.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a health organization or related field such as public health, health education, or health promotion, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Direct experience with sarcoma is strongly preferred.
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, exempt position. SFA staff primarily work remotely. This position can be fully remote, with occasional travel to the office or events as needed.
