Role Description
Job Title: Product Compliance & R&D Specialist(entry level)
Location: Springville, UT (On-site) Salary: 40000-60,000 / year (Depending on experience)
About the Role: PAG USA(www.pagpharmatechusa.com) is looking for a Food Science or Nutrition graduate to join our team. We don’t need you to invent new molecules in a lab; we need you to be our Regulatory Gatekeeper. You will work closely with our R&D team in China and our manufacturing partners in Utah to ensure every formula we produce is compliant, safe, and effective for the US market.
What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
Formula Compliance Review (The Filter):
Review product formulas provided by the China team or clients.
Key Task: Check every ingredient against FDA GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) lists and DSHEA regulations. Determine: “Is this legal to use in a US dietary supplement?”
Identify banned or restricted substances (e.g., specific colorants or novel ingredients not yet approved).
Labling and documentation
Review “Supplement Facts” panels for accuracy (serving size, daily value calculations).
Maintain technical documentation (Specifications, Allergens, GMO statements) for our products.
Sample Evaluation (Sensory Testing):
Receive prototype samples (gummies, powders, capsules) from the factory.
Conduct sensory evaluation (Taste, Texture, Color, Smell) and provide detailed feedback to the factory for adjustments.
Technical Communication:
Translate technical requirements between our US clients and the China R&D team.
Answer basic technical questions from the sales team (e.g., “Why is this powder clumping?”).
Who We Are Looking For:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or Biology.
Knowledge:Understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 111 (cGMP for Supplements) is a big plus. Basic knowledge of dietary ingredients (Vitamins, Minerals, Botanicals).
Skills: Attention to detail, ability to read technical specs, and good communication skills.
Experience: Recent graduates are welcome! Training will be provided.
