Summarized Job Description:
· The Patient Intake Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating communication across all teams within the Vital Care network, including pharmacy-related departments such as authorizations, billing, and support staff.
Primary Responsibility:
· Their main objective is to ensure efficient collaboration that accelerates patient approval and streamlines the intake process.
Reports directly to:
· Lead Patient Intake Coordinator
Daily Tasks:
o If declined, forward to the “No-Go Referral TEAMS channel” for review
o Expedite all acute referrals by emailing the Vital Care Intake Team
o Initiating authorizations
o Reimbursements
o Benefits
o Out-of-Network (OON) versus In-Network (IN) status
o Warm transfers and favor auths. For patients we can’t accept but will assist with maintaining a good relationship with MDO
o Initiating authorizations
o Follow-ups on authorization status
o Appeal follow-ups
o Reauthorizations
o Processing payments through CollectPlus
o Payments
o Adjustments
Pay: $28.96 – $33.26 per hour
