2. About the Opportunity:
The Patient Support Advocate serves as a patient advocate to resolve issues related to claims, benefits, physician access, and referrals. This role manages a high volume of inbound calls, documents patient information accurately, and acts as a liaison between patients and various internal departments. The position contributes to patient satisfaction and operational efficiency by addressing patient concerns and facilitating access to necessary healthcare resources.
3. Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate superior customer service behaviors and communication with all customers
• Manage multiple tasks including data entry and phone interactions using dual monitors
• Provide services involving complex and sensitive information while advocating for patients
• Support colleagues by assisting with paperwork related to patient issues
• Identify financial, medical, and legal risks during customer interactions and follow protocols
• Meet departmental goals such as call volume, accuracy, quality, and attendance
• Use organizational systems to address appointments, authorizations, claims, benefits, and appeals
• Document information accurately and concisely according to guidelines
• Assist members in selecting primary care providers and provide general medical group information
• Coordinate with clinicians and Telehealth Nurses, including arranging equipment and transportation
• Update patient records and process necessary paperwork
### 4. Requirements:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service role
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related systems
• Flexibility to work full-time (40 hours per week) across specified shifts within business hours
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a healthcare setting
• Bilingual proficiency in English and another language
Telecommuting Requirements:
• Residency within Mountain or Pacific Time Zone
• Ability to secure sensitive documents and maintain information privacy
• Dedicated, private workspace at home
• Access to approved high-speed internet connection
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Hourly pay ranges from $16.15 to $28.80 based on experience and other factors
