Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Partnerships & Relationship Development Representative for an organization in the higher education space. This is a remote position, though the role requires extensive travel.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for expanding partnerships with union and labor-affiliated organizations through relationship-based outreach and early-stage opportunity development. The Partnerships & Relationship Development Lead will focus on opening doors, building credibility with union leadership, and generating qualified partnership opportunities. This role owns the process from initial outreach through qualification, with successful opportunities transitioned to internal teams for activation and long-term partnership management. This is a top-of-funnel, relationship first role, ideal for someone with an existing network in the union ecosystem who can translate relationships into meaningful partnership opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize prospective organizations for partnership
- Leverage existing relationships and conduct targeted outreach to secure introductory meetings with union leaders and decision-makers
- Build credibility and regional presence through consistent engagement across in-person and virtual channels
- Represent the organization at conferences, leadership meetings, and industry events
- Manage opportunities through a CRM, ensuring documentation and follow-up while maintaining consistent movement through a defined pipeline
- Report on pipeline activity, meeting outcomes, and conversion trends
- Transition qualified opportunities to internal teams for activation and management
- Provide clear context to ensure continuity and a strong partner experience
Qualifications
- Direct experience within or closely alongside labor unions or union-affiliated organizations
- Established network of union leaders, staff, or affiliated partners with the ability to secure introductions and meetings
- Proven ability to build relationships and open doors with senior stakeholders and decision makers
- Consultative, relationship-first approach to business development
- Experience in partnership or relationship-driven sales environments
- Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with CRM experience
Compensation And Benefits
Compensation for this role is $85,000-$105,000 per year, with performance-based bonus potential. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and professional development support.
