Job Description:
Capella University is seeking a Part-Time Faculty member for their Public Health program in the GuidedPath learning format, responsible for mentoring doctoral learners and delivering high-quality instruction.
Job Responsibility:
- Mentoring doctoral learners
- Utilize your professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction from a pre-designed curriculum
- Provide relevant feedback and ensure successful completion
- Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the learning experience
- Establish high standards and ensure learners understand how they will be evaluated
- Adhere to University policies and procedures
- Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and training as required
- Participate in other activities based on university needs
- Participate in doctoral committees supporting scholarship (doctoral mentors only)
- Be available within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) by phone, email, and in the course room to ensure learners receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success
Requirements:
- A doctoral degree in Public Health required
- Three years of professional experience in Public Health required
- How to conduct and oversee research/scholarship and achievement in Public Health required
- Three years of doctoral level teaching experience is preferred
- All degrees must be conferred and from a regionally accredited institution
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation
- Effectively communicate with all levels of the University
- Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning and organizing of course objectives
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem-solving aspects aligned to job duties
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to manage potentially stressful situations in a professional and ethical manner
Nice to have:
Three years of doctoral level teaching experience is preferred
