Lead Operations at One of Maine’s Oyster Farms

Mook Sea Farm is hiring a Packing Plant Manager to oversee daily oyster processing, shipping, inventory, and team operations at our Walpole, Maine facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys fast-paced operational work, team coordination, problem solving, and balancing physical work with organization and planning.

You’ll work closely with our operations and sales teams to ensure wholesale oyster orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily packing plant operations and supervise a small production team
• Coordinate oyster sorting, packing, inventory, and shipping
• Ensure orders are accurate, on time, and meet quality standards
• Train and support employees in operational procedures and safety practices
• Maintain organized workflows, sanitation standards, and inventory records
• Work collaboratively with operations and sales leadership
• Help improve systems and operational efficiency over time

Qualifications

Required

• Supervisory, team lead, or operations experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred

• Experience in aquaculture, seafood, agriculture, production, logistics, or manufacturing
• Forklift or equipment operation experience
• Food safety or HACCP experience
• Inventory or shipping coordination experience

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time, year-round position
• Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Occasional weekend or holiday work may be required
• Competitive pay based on experience

Work Environment

This is a physically active role in a wet seafood processing environment. Employees should be comfortable standing for long periods, lifting up to 75 pounds, and working in changing weather and operational conditions.
