Operator – NV

Starting rate $33.73/hour without CDL or $35.86/hour with a CDL or relative experience to the position.

Hours per Shift: 12 hour Rotating days

Overtime Required: 10%-20%

Summary: Transloading Prilled Ammonium Nitrate and Liquid Ammonium Nitrate from Rail Cars into Tanker Trailers for deliveries to surrounding mine sites. Prilled Ammonium Nitrate is off-loaded from a Hopper Railcar using a Cam-Belt System. Liquid Ammonium Nitrate is off-loaded from Tanker Cars using Steam and Compressed Air. You will gain knowledge in the Safe Operation of a Steam Generator that is used to Re-Melt/Heat Liquid Ammonium Nitrate Tanker Cars.

Ideal candidates are comfortable operating in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico driving hazardous materials between company and customer sites as well as assisting experienced blasters with blasting operations. Candidates should be motivated individuals with the desire to work hard, learn new skills, and be accustomed to working in teams to accomplish amazing things. Experience with explosive related products and services or other hazardous materials is not required, but desired. For those who are new to the industry, extensive training will be provided.

Job Requirements:

· Must be at least 21 years of age.

· Must be willing and able to learn and understand tasks associated with explosives handling under supervision.

· Must be willing to drive, load, unload and assist customers with hazardous materials in accordance with DOT, MSHA, or OSHA regulations.

· Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, or kneel for long periods of time on frequent basis as well as lift and carry loads up to fifty-five pounds for multiple hours per day.

· Must enjoy working outside in the Western United States as well as being exposed to changes in temperatures and humidity on a frequent or continuous basis.

· Must be willing to learn and understand all the health and safety aspects of the blasting and explosives industry.

· Must be willing to learn and grow your skills and abilities to the benefit of yourself and others.

· No felonies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (ATF, DOT, etc.). Accurately control the flow of inventory, stage orders, assist drivers, customer deliveries, upkeep and have good housekeeping of magazine facility, maintenance of magazine facility and equipment, assist in performing hazard evaluation risk analysis, developing safe operating procedures and job safety analysis, perform accurate receiving and shipping duties, develop and maintain regulatory contacts and relationships and other job duties as required

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

-Must be willing and able to learn and understand tasks associated with explosives handling under supervision.

· Must be willing to drive, load, unload and assist customers with hazardous materials in accordance with DOT, MSHA, or OSHA regulations.

Computer Literate, Ability to provide strong, positive safety attitude and have, Excellent

interpersonal and verbal communication skills

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out

instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems

involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

ENVIRONMENATAL FACTORS: Possible exposure to temperature extremes, dust

hazardous materials, wildlife and working in and around moving equipment.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves

and weather protection

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use

hands to manipulate, handle or feel substances, objects, tools, or controls; and talk or

hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee

is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance; and also stoop, kneel, crouch or

crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift

and/or move up to 100 pounds. Visual abilities required by this job include close vision,

distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
