Medical Technician Full Time NEW

Job Responsibilities: 

• Medication & Treatment: Responsible for all aspects of medication administration, including transcribing orders, ordering supplies, and documenting treatments.
• Patient Assessment: Assist with initial inmate assessments by monitoring vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure) and reporting clinical findings to higher-level medical staff.
• Clinical Procedures: Perform basic medical treatments such as wound care, dressing changes, and collecting laboratory specimens (blood, urine, feces).
• Security & Safety: Essential duties include following strict safety and security protocols, supporting emergency response efforts, and providing one-on-one “active watch” for patients at risk of self-harm.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is typically required.
• Must successfully complete a Medication Technician course.
• Current CPR/First Aid/BLS certification.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as CPR chest compressions, walking significant distances during a shift (up to 7 miles), and lifting patients on gurneys.
