Pacific Skilled Healthcare is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SNF Medicaid Biller to join our growing Business Office team. This role is essential in ensuring timely Medicaid billing, reimbursement processing, resident eligibility tracking, and compliance with Hawaii Medicaid long-term care requirements.

Position Summary

The Medicaid Biller is responsible for managing Medicaid billing and reimbursement processes for Skilled Nursing Facility residents in Hawaii. This position works closely with residents, families, social services, admissions, and state agencies to ensure accurate billing, application processing, and ongoing eligibility compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit Medicaid claims accurately and timely
• Manage pending Medicaid applications and follow up with residents, families, and state agencies
• Complete and track Hawaii Medicaid long-term care documentation, including Forms 1147 and 1148
• Monitor resident eligibility, patient liability, spend-downs, and redeterminations
• Review census changes, authorizations, and payer updates for billing accuracy
• Research and resolve denied or rejected claims
• Maintain communication with Hawaii Medicaid offices, case workers, and facility staff
• Maintain accurate resident financial records and documentation
• Assist with month-end close, AR reconciliation, and aging follow-up
• Support audits and provide requested billing documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of SNF Medicaid billing experience preferred
• Knowledge of Hawaii Medicaid long-term care billing requirements
• Experience with Medicaid pending processes and application follow-up
• Familiarity with Forms 1147 and 1148
• Experience with SNF billing software and electronic health records
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Preferred Experience

• PCC (PointClickCare) experience
• Understanding of Medicaid and crossover billing
• Experience working with DHS Hawaii Medicaid offices

Additional Responsibilities

• Coordinate Medicaid application packets for long-term care residents
• Obtain required financial and clinical documentation
• Communicate with responsible parties regarding missing items
• Track application status through approval or denial
• Maintain Medicaid pending logs and reporting
