Duties

• Prepare and cut various types of meat using knife skills and meat cutting techniques to ensure quality and presentation standards are met
• Package meat products efficiently while maintaining food safety and hygiene protocols
• Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable advice on cuts, preparation methods, and cooking tips
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat department, including sanitation of tools, surfaces, and storage areas
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times to uphold safety regulations
• Restock displays regularly to keep the department well-supplied with fresh products
• Support food production tasks such as trimming, portioning, and preparing meat for sale or culinary use

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food production, food preparation, or kitchen environments is highly preferred
• Strong knife skills and expertise in meat cutting techniques are essential for success in this role
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is required
• Experience working in the food industry or restaurant setting is advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills to assist shoppers with enthusiasm and professionalism
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy loads safely
• Culinary experience or familiarity with kitchen operations will be considered a plus
