Material Testing Report Reviewer Full Time

Overview

The Material Testing Report Reviewer is responsible for reviewing field and laboratory inspection and testing reports before they are issued to clients and agencies. This role ensures all reports are accurate, complete, clearly written, and compliant with company standards, project specifications, and applicable codes. Serving as the final quality control checkpoint, this position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity and reputation of Amaracon’s work product.

Duties

• Review daily field and laboratory inspection and testing reports submitted by inspectors for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and grammatical correctness
• Verify that reports conform to project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and Amaracon’s reporting templates and style guidelines
• Correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, formatting, and terminology; rewrite unclear or incomplete narrative sections as needed
• Cross-check data entries, test results, dates, project identifiers, and inspector credentials for internal consistency
• Identify missing information, technical discrepancies, or unclear observations and follow up with inspectors or project managers for clarification
• Ensure reports are finalized and distributed within required turnaround times
• Maintain organized records of reviewed reports, revisions, and related correspondence
• Flag recurring issues, trends, or training opportunities to management to support continuous improvement of report quality
• Support the development and refinement of report templates, style guides, and internal quality control procedures
• Maintain confidentiality of project information and client communication

Requiered:

• Exceptional command of written English, including grammar, punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure
• Proven editing, proofreading, and technical writing skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to catch inconsistencies, omissions, and errors in technical documents
• Ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference construction drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures
• Ability to manage a high daily volume of reports while meeting turnaround deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Professional written and verbal communication skills for interacting with inspectors, project managers, and clients

Preferred:

• Prior experience reviewing or editing construction, inspection, testing, or engineering reports
• Familiarity with ACI, ASTM, AWS, AISC, and ICC codes and standards
• Familiarity with NYC DOB, SCA, DDC, DASNY, or Port Authority reporting formats and requirements
• Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Experience with report management or document control software

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
