Marine Mechanic
Derecktor Shipyard is currently seeking an Marine Mechanic. The individual will handle the maintenance and repair of marine equipment and vessels.
Responsibilities:
· Perform routine inspections, maintenance and repair of marine equipment and vessels
· Diagnose mechanical problems and determine necessary repair work
· Experience with operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and propulsion systems
· Experience in rigging and removal of shafts, propellers, and rudders
Requirements:
· Marine and/or Heavy Equipment experience of 3+ years
· Knowledge of the marine industry preferred
· Ability to work in a shipyard environment
· Must have own tools
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
· Able to climb in and out of vessels under repair
Work Environment Summary:
Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be aware of work environment at all times.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit/stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, see with close vision, and access confined spaces. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
