A Linen Technician is responsible for picking up dirty linen from specific locations within the hospital. The technician delivers clean linen to specific locations also. This person is also responsible in ensuring the correct amount of linen is delivered on a daily basis. They keep accurate count of inventory and report any discrepancies to the department manager.
A Linen Technician should be able to walk, bend, stoop, and kneel up to 12 hours on occasion. This person should be able to push/pull carts that may weigh up to 400 pounds on a daily basis. The ability to communicate effectively in English with hospital staff is highly desirable.
General Labor teams work under general supervision and according to established procedures such as:
Receive soiled linen and transports laundry carts to processing area
Transport clean laundry to loading dock
Weigh and record weight for proper billing
Deliver laundry carts to designated areas within the hospital
Operate various machines
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Able to read and follow oral and written instructions in English
Take and maintain inventory
Good Communication Skills
Monitor equipment operation
Able to perform simple math such as adding, subtraction, division and percentages
Working Conditions – Grand Prairie OR Hospital Setting:
Work in a hospital environment which includes clean personal hygiene: Clean shaven face, short hair, clean hands
Able to walk, stand, stoop, bend, reach at least 8 to 12 hours per day
Must take an annual Tuberculosis (TB) test. NTHCL also recommends the Hepatitis B test.
Able to work weekends, holidays and night shifts
Able to work in a manufacturing environment.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS
PAYDAY – EVERY TWO WEEKS ON THURSDAY
