Lead Carpenter / Superintendent Full Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented Residential Construction Superintendent / Project Manager to oversee the execution of projects in and around Baltimore. This position requires strong leadership & analytical skills to manage projects from pre-construction to completion, the ability to manage costs, quality and customer satisfaction. This role requires you to perform light demo, carpentry, and punchout as well as manage subcontractors.

TRA Construction is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter / Superintendent for Additions to and renovations of Historic residential properties in and around Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

TRA Construction specializes in the restoration of historic buildings to CHAP and MHT standards, renovations and additions to historic houses, rehabilitation of vacant rowhouses, and technical carpentry, and other challenging projects. Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain a daily and weekly task schedule
• Supervise, mentor, and train junior team members
• Maintain effective communication with clients and team members
• Provide and receive constructive feedback
• Complete or supervise all aspects of renovations and restorations
• Technical problem solving
• Ensure the subcontractors’ work is completed per plans and to professional standards

· Ensure proper use of hand tools and power tools

· Supervise assigned assistants

· Create material lists

· Install framing, flooring, sheathing, trim, doors, cabinets, etc.

· Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans

· Allocate general and daily responsibilities

· Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met

· Supervise the use of machinery and equipment

· Resolve problems when they arise

· Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.

Requirements:

· Proven Leadership experience

· 10 years of Carpentry experience, including Framing and trim.

· Renovation, and restoration work experience

· Follows and updates Gantt charts

· Provides thorough daily report

· Plan and execute a daily plan

· Plan and execute a weekly plan

· Creates and executes a monthly plan

· Independently maintains an accurate punchlist

· Accurately provides all carpentry takeoffs

· Reads and analyzes blueprints unassisted

· Provides accurate carpentry layout

· Ability to use builder’s level

· Ability to square a foundation

· Provide Electrical layout and QC

· Provide plumbing layout and QC

· Teach others to install windows and doors

· Teach others to build door jamb unassisted

· Schedules and coordinates with subcontractors

· Ability to read drawings, plans, blueprints

· Excellent organizational and leadership skills

· Ability to communicate and report effectively

· Motivated and self-disciplined

· Reliable and punctual

· Driver’s license

· Ability to pass an MD DOT physical

· OSHA 30

Experience:

· Proven experience in construction management

· 4 years as a Carpenter

· 2 years as an Assistant

· 3 years in a supervisory role (commercial or residential)

Compensation:

· $75,000 – $85,000 Base pay

· Take-home company vehicle
