Large format printer
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Large Format Printer Operator to join our printing team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining large format printing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials for our clients. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with large format printers, a strong eye for color accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a production environment.
Key responsibilities:
Printing operations:
- Set up, operate, and monitor large format printers to produce banners, signage, graphics, and other wide-format materials.
- Load and manage a variety of substrates including vinyl, canvas, fabric, and rigid media.
- Perform color calibration, RIP software configuration, and test prints to ensure color accuracy and consistency.
- Inspect prints for quality, identifying and correcting issues such as banding, misregistration, or color shifts.
Maintenance & troubleshooting:
- Perform routine printer maintenance including head cleanings, nozzle checks, and ink system upkeep.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with technicians for repairs as needed.
- Monitor ink and media inventory levels and report shortages.
General duties:
- Review and interpret job tickets to ensure accurate output per client specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized print production area.
- Follow safety procedures when handling large-format materials and equipment.
- Support production staff with finishing and packaging tasks as needed.
Qualifications & skills:
- Experience operating large format printers — experience with EFI/Vutek 3r, Durst P5, or Canon Colorado is preferred.
- Familiarity with RIP software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to color quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting and meet deadlines.
- Computer skills for reviewing job tickets and managing print queues are a must.
- Ability to lift and handle large rolls of media and printed materials.
