Junior Java Developer (Tampa) – Hybrid ($75K) Full Time NEW

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-to-Junior level Java Developer to join our Technology team. In this role, you will help us design, build, test, and support innovative software. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to gain hands-on experience with modern software development practices, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted development tools while contributing to a trusted, scalable platform used by healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate is passionate about software engineering and development, eager to learn, and motivated to work professionally with AI tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement software solutions using technologies such as Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, JavaScript, MySQL, Python, Servlets, and JDK.
• Collaborate with senior developers and architects to build scalable, secure, and high-quality applications.
• Participate in the design and implementation of application components, services, and system integrations.
• Assist in defining application architecture and implementing security and validation frameworks.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution.
• Participate in Agile development ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and solution design.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field required.

Experience Required:

• 6 months experience of hands-on software development experience using Java, Python, JavaScript and/or other programming languages.
• Experience should include professional internships, not just personal at home development projects.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and software development best practices.
• Experience with Source control like Git, Github, etc.
• Windows and Linux experience preferred.
• Local to Tampa for Hybrid work arrangement.
• MUST BE A US CITIZEN or GREEN CARD HOLDER to be considered.

BONUS if you have any of these:

• Experience using AI development tools such as Claude, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, RAG-based solutions, or Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
• Experience using JIRA or similar Agile project management tools.
• Exposure to DevOps tools and practices, including:
• Jenkins
• Maven
• SonarQube
• CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in healthcare technology environments.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite at our Tampa, Florida office a minimum of three (3) days per week.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven tech environment with ever-changing priorities.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening as a condition of employment and be able to provide at least one prior supervisor reference (internship, etc).
