Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Junior Credit Analyst role based in New York, NY, with flexibility to work from home part of the week. The Junior Analyst will partner with a Senior Analyst focusing on Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) credit. The role involves supporting Elmwood’s investment process from new idea generation to monitoring existing positions. Junior analysts also perform industry- and market-level analyses, participate in credit discussions with investment team colleagues and external counterparties, and assist Elmwood’s broader investment team in a variety of special projects and supporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Support a senior analyst in coverage of existing portfolio investments through quarterly tracking and modeling, initiating market deep dives, and interacting with management teams and buy/sell-side counterparts
• Assist or lead underwriting of prospective credit investments through fundamental research, financial modeling, and relative value analysis — including historical financial compilation, forecasting, and valuation to frame risk/return
• Monitor covered sectors and present on key industry trends and developments
• Contribute to team-wide projects spanning market themes, risk analysis, and business development initiatives
• Participate in the investment team’s regular strategy discussions on portfolio optimization, credit performance, and risk management

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in buy-side investing, sell-side research, investment banking, or financial advisory
• Exceptional character, work ethic, and ability to learn
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly in written reports and verbal discussions
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines with a high level of accuracy
• Comfortable in an entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Bachelor’s degree required
