Job Description
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking an experienced IT Applications Developer/Senior to help build and support the critical systems that power public health surveillance across the state. In this role, you’ll develop high-performance applications that process hundreds of millions of healthcare messages, support epidemiologists in identifying emerging health trends, and help protect the health and well-being of Nebraskans.
This is an on-site role in Lincoln, Nebraska. Not eligible to be a contracted position.
Effective July 1st, 2026, starting wage for this position will increase to $36.060/hr.

Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Other: Position is located on-site at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln. No remote work, no other office locations available.
