About the Company
Our client is a U.S. defense technology company building hardware solutions for mission-critical government and national security environments. They are looking for an IT Administrator to own day-to-day IT operations for their Dallas-based U.S. team.
Why This Role
This is a hands-on role for someone who can keep systems secure, users supported, and the company audit-ready as it scales. The right person will be comfortable managing IT infrastructure, access, endpoints, documentation, vendors, and cybersecurity compliance in a high-trust, high-accountability environment. You will have real ownership over how IT is built, secured, and maintained as the company grows.
What You’ll Do
• Own day-to-day IT operations across the company’s Dallas office and U.S. systems
• Administer, secure, and support company devices, identities, endpoints, applications, and user access
• Onboard and offboard users while enforcing least privilege and strong access controls
• Maintain a secure and compliant IT environment aligned with government contracting requirements
• Support cybersecurity and compliance efforts tied to NIST 800-171 / 800-53, ITAR, and CMMC Level 2
• Manage and improve IT policies, procedures, system documentation, and security controls
• Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and assessors to keep IT and compliance work moving
• Track security tasks, audit preparation, remediation items, deadlines, and compliance deliverables
• Help maintain a clean, defensible security posture for U.S. government work
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, endpoint, account, and access issues as needed
What You Bring
• Active TS clearance required
• Experience building IT processes from the ground up, ideally at a startup or other defense company
• 5+ years in IT support, systems administration, IT operations, cybersecurity operations, or a similar role
• Experience supporting IT environments tied to U.S. government, defense, aerospace, federal contracting, or other regulated work
• Working knowledge of identity and access management, endpoint administration, device hardening, user support, and IT documentation
• Familiarity with NIST 800-171 / 800-53, CMMC, ITAR, SSPs, security controls, audits, or compliance-driven IT environments
• Strong judgment, discretion, and ownership in fast-moving, high-accountability settings
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Ability to work onsite in Dallas, TX
