Job Summary

Responsible for scheduling hospital procedures and tests for patients of the practice.

Essential Responsibilities

• Schedule all inpatient and outpatient hospital procedures for CHI patients, which includes coordinating times and locations for pre-testing, procedures and physician availability.
• Conduct patient education and instruction for the scheduled procedure.
• Receive calls from the hospital and distribute messages to the appropriate physicians.
• Call in physician orders, document and send to the appropriate departments including medical orders and standing orders.
• Pull records, copy, make hospital reservations and send information per the physician request.
• Set up all hospital transfers.
• Take consults and pass them to the appropriate nurse/physicians.
• Set up all direct admissions.

*Job Requirements**Education:*

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Two years of hospital or medical office experience with emphasis in areas of scheduling, insurance and pharmacology.
• Cardiology office experience preferred.

*Pay Range*

$16.83 – $23.77 /hour
