About Ploutos

Ploutos is a platform where AI researchers, engineers, and students come together around live technical talks, research demos, and academic seminars. Speakers from top universities and research labs use Ploutos to share their work with highly engaged technical audiences.

We work closely with the academic community and keep our events accessible by partnering with companies that want to support learning, research, and early technical talent.

In addition, Ploutos is building Game Labs—programs for middle and high school students that introduce game development inside a shared, live environment where students can build, publish, and present their work.

The role

We’re looking for a Head of Sponsorships & Partnerships to own and grow our sponsor and partner relationships across both:

• Ploutos Streams & Events (research, talks, demos)
• Ploutos Game Labs (school and student programs)

This role sits at the intersection of:

• academia
• industry
• and early creator ecosystems

This is not a traditional sales role. It’s relationship-driven, context-aware, and rooted in community, education, and thoughtful growth.

What you will do:

Sponsorships and Partnerships

• Identify and reach out to potential sponsors (DevRel, University Recruiting, Academic Partnerships, Research orgs)
• Build relationships with teams at AI companies and startups (Developer Relations, University Recruiting, Research Partnerships, Engineering Leadership)
• Manage outreach via LinkedIn, email, and warm introductions
• Represent Ploutos in sponsor conversations with clarity and credibility
• Close sponsorships for individual talks and recurring series
• Coordinate simple logistics (logo, acknowledgment, confirmation)
• Build long-term relationships with repeat sponsors
• Provide feedback on what resonates with sponsors and why

Game Labs

• Identify and build relationships with: charter schools, private schools, educational networks
• Introduce and position Ploutos Game Labs to school leaders and administrators
• Help structure pilot programs (school-sponsored or parent-enrollment models)
• Work with schools to align program format, timing, and rollout
• Close partnerships for initial cohorts and repeat programs

What we are looking for

• Experience with partnerships, sponsorships, community, DevRel, or conference/event sales
• Comfort talking to senior stakeholders:
• Directors
• Heads of DevRel
• School leaders / administrators
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Good judgment, taste, and respect for both:
• academic environments
• educational contexts (students, parents, schools)
• Familiarity with the AI / developer / research ecosystem, or strong interest in it
• Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity

Bonus:

• Experience working with schools, education programs, or youth initiatives
• Experience with developer communities or academic ecosystems

Compensation

• Commission and equity based initially (strong upside per closed deal)
• Revenue opportunities across:
• sponsorships (streams, series, programs)
• Game Labs partnerships (schools, cohorts)
• Clear path to a larger role as revenue becomes recurring
• Opportunity to shape a core revenue and partnerships function from the ground up
