Sailer’s Food Market & Meat Processing, Inc. is a USDA inspected custom processor of beef, pork, lamb, and buffalo. We carry a full line of retail meats and award winning sausages. President of the company, Jake Sailer is a 5th generation butcher and a Master Meat Cutter who has been servicing Elmwood, Wisconsin and the surrounding communities since 1923. We are currently looking for a HACCP Cordinator.
HACCP Coordinator Job Summary:
Ensure food production is safe for consumption. Develop and maintain Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system in conjunction with using Food Safe Pro. HACCP Coordinators develop prerequisite programs for the premises, as well as prerequisite programs for shipping and receiving, equipment and maintenance, personnel and training, sanitation and pest control, recalls and other operational control programs. Train and guide others’ performance in the HACCP process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Identifying, evaluating, controlling and preventing hazards at all stages of the food production process
· Reviewing transport condition of food carriers for appropriate temperature, segregation of materials and stock rotation.
· Working cooperatively with maintenance and engineering
· Performing inspections
· Reviewing personnel, visitor and contractor requirements for good manufacturing practices, general safety rules, and training requirements for staff.
· Developing recall requirements
Education and Skills:
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Food Science Degree or related post-secondary education
· HACCP certification
· Strong attention to detail
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Good organization skills as well as time management
· Punctual, dependable and reliable
· Ability to work independently or as a team when needed
· Maintain a clean and safe work area
· Desire and ability to follow general food safety practices and guidelines as set by the plant and the USDA (GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, SSOPs, SQF systems)
· Must be able to write, speak and read English
· Mechanical aptitude is a plus but not required
· Prior meat packaging experience is preferred but not required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Moderate to heavy lifting and walking – lifting/carrying to 60 lbs., pushing/pulling to 60 force lbs., reaching, turning, standing, squatting, stooping/bending, equipment operation. Must be able to work effectively in refrigerated/cooler environment.
