Grant Specialst Full Time NEW

Position Summary

The Grant Specialist will be responsible for researching, developing, and writing compelling proposals and reports to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government entities. The Grant Specialist will also be responsible for managing the post-award phase of grants, including budget tracking, fund spend-down, and compliance reporting. This role plays a vital part in advancing the school’s mission by generating revenue for existing programs, capital projects, and new initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify new grant opportunities aligned with the school’s mission and strategic priorities.
• Write high-quality, persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and funding requests.
• Manage the post-award phase of grants through budget tracking and fund spend-down.
• Prepare and submit timely grant reports and ensure compliance with all funder requirements.
• Collaborate with program staff, finance, and leadership to gather relevant data and insights for proposals and reports.
• Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
• Steward relationships with grantors by providing updates, attending meetings (as needed), and ensuring funders feel connected to the school’s impact.
• Assist with the development of case statements, fundraising appeals, and other development materials, as needed.
• Track and analyze grant success rates and funding trends to inform strategy.
• Contribute to marketing and public relations efforts that further fund opportunities for our students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
• 2 or more years of experience in grant writing is required, preferably in the education or non-profit sector.
• Proven track record of securing grants from foundation, corporate, and/or government sources.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
