About The Role

As a member of the Developer Experience team at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the usability and performance of our industry-leading observability platform, Chronosphere. This platform is designed for control in the modern, containerized environment, enabling customers to focus on impactful data and insights by reducing complexity and optimizing operational costs. Your primary responsibility will be to craft intuitive, fast, and reliable user experiences that empower software engineers to diagnose and resolve incidents efficiently and confidently. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to translate complex telemetry data into clear visualizations and workflows that simplify troubleshooting in high-pressure situations. Your contributions will directly influence the platform’s usability, scalability, and overall quality, ensuring that our customers receive a seamless and effective experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in owning projects from conception through to delivery, collaborating effectively with product managers, UX designers, and engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools and large-scale distributed systems, demonstrating empathy for customer challenges in complex environments.
• Strong motivation and curiosity to learn deep, complex technical domains and continuously improve skills.
• Excellent feedback-seeking habits and the ability to ask for help when needed, fostering a growth mindset.
• Flexible and collaborative working style suited for a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
• Fluency in building products using TypeScript and React, with a solid understanding of modern front-end development practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of user interfaces that highlight critical insights, streamline troubleshooting workflows, and reduce cognitive load during high-stakes situations.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to translate complex observability data into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and workflows.
• Review and question design decisions, incorporate user feedback, and ensure high-quality delivery of features and improvements.
• Work with engineers across the organization to evolve the architecture of UI components and APIs, leveraging technologies such as TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and NodeJS.
• Participate in a fast-paced environment that promotes continuous learning, career development, and technological innovation.
• Contribute to the automation of testing, tooling, and deployment processes to enhance development efficiency and reliability.
• Mentor colleagues to foster best practices in engineering reliable, performant, and high-quality user experiences.
