Freelance Technical Writer Full Time NEW

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Freelance Technical Writer to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for a variety of technical products, systems, and processes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable content for diverse audiences, including end users, stakeholders, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, manuals, SOPs, FAQs, and knowledge base articles

Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences

Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, developers, and product teams to gather and validate information

Create and maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides

Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency

Organize and structure content for usability and accessibility across platforms

Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Conduct research and ensure content aligns with current product features and industry standards

Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and revise documentation accordingly

Required Qualifications

Proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role (2+ years preferred)

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail

Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts clearly

Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar)

Basic understanding of software development, APIs, or technical systems (depending on project needs)

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field

Experience writing for SaaS, IT, healthcare, or engineering industries

Knowledge of markup languages (e.g., Markdown, HTML)

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Familiarity with UX writing or content design principles

Work Structure

This is a freelance/contract-based role, offering flexible hours and project-based assignments. Writers may be engaged on short-term or long-term projects depending on business needs.
